Yesterday we wanted to go back to one of our favourite restaurants, The Blue Pumpkin, and satisfy our sweet tooth (somehow it just never is satisfied, no matter how much we feed it). The Blue Pumpkin is a great little place. It is a french bakery and patisserie, an ice cream parlor and a restaurant with a lounge atmosphere. The lounge atmosphere can really be felt upstairs, so that is where we headed to relax with our treats.
Afterwards we found a very cool bookstore that also happened to sell small national flag crests, and we were able to find one for every country we are going to...even ones we are only having layovers in...but I'm counting those anyway ;) The only country missing (as shown by the open area in the picture below) is the Netherlands. Strange, they had every other conceivable one, but not that one. We will have to look for it when we are there next May.
Apsara Dinner Show
The evening ended with an hour of traditional Apsara dancing. Apsara is the female spirit of the clouds and waters in Hindu and Buddhist mythology. The Apsara dance is the indigenous ballet-like performance art of Cambodia. It is also known as the Khmer Classic Dance. To warm the audience up, musicians playing traditional instruments performed.
