We departed Madrid yesterday and traveled five hours by bus to arrive in Granada at 3:30pm. We were very fortunate that the mother of the woman we are renting an apartment from was willing to meet us at the bus depot and then travel by city bus with us to the apartment (she happens to have the apartment right next door). Never mind that she doesn't speak a word of English, and our Spanish is "estoy mas o meno" ("so so"). Oh, who am I kidding, our Spanish is "inexistente" ("non
existent"). No problem though. Once again, a little bit of charades, nodding of head to indicate you understand (when you really don't) and a lot of trust, and we made it to what will be our accommodation for the next 28 days - the longest stay in one place during our entire nine months of travel. We certainly appreciated the nice lady's help in getting us to our "home". Not sure if you have noticed on the blog, but we tend to get a little lost from time to time, so her help probably saved us hours by not going in the wrong direction the moment we got off the bus.
As always, thanks so much for checking in with us.
Until next time, here is an update of the route we have taken to get to this point in our trip, and the distance we have traveled.
